Important Information About Crown & Collar Institute Membership, Recognition, Records, Privacy, and Public Claims

Crown & Collar Institute is committed to clear communication, careful documentation, and responsible public language.

These policies and disclaimers help explain the limits of Crown & Collar Institute membership, awards, title codes, breeder directory listings, veterinary and scientific contributor roles, nonprofit mission support, intellectual property, and information submitted through this website.

SECTION · 01

General Disclaimer

Crown & Collar Institute materials are educational, recognition-based, and documentation-based. Information on this website is not veterinary advice, legal advice, tax advice, genetic counseling, medical advice, or a guarantee of any outcome.

Breeders, programs, puppy families, veterinarians, researchers, and contributors should consult qualified professionals when making veterinary, breeding, legal, financial, tax, genetic, or health-related decisions.

SECTION · 02

Recognition Disclaimer

Crown & Collar Institute recognition is not automatic.

Membership, founding access, application submission, directory listing, registry participation, payment of future fees, or interest in an award does not guarantee recognition, awards, title codes, pedigree notation, badge use, breeder approval, dog approval, litter approval, pairing approval, program approval, or professional approval.

Recognition may be granted only after Crown & Collar Institute review of documentation, transparency, alignment with applicable guidelines, and available review standards.

SECTION · 03

Registry & Pedigree Disclaimer

Crown & Collar Institute is developing its own award, title, guideline, recognition, and registry/program record system.

Approved recognition may be entered into Crown & Collar Institute records and displayed on Crown & Collar Institute pedigree records, dog records, litter records, pairing records, kennel profiles, breeder records, program profiles, award records, and recognition summaries.

Unless a written agreement exists, Crown & Collar Institute does not claim that IOEBA, AKC, UKC, ABKC, APRI, or any other third-party registry automatically accepts, endorses, displays, or issues Crown & Collar Institute awards, title codes, or recognition records.

SECTION · 04

Health, Genetics & Breeding Disclaimer

Crown & Collar Institute guidelines may discuss health testing, DNA-based pairing review, genetic diversity, COI/eCOI, veterinary screening, breed-specific concerns, structure, temperament, puppy development, and preservation.

No website content, award, title, directory listing, pedigree notation, DNA result, health record, or Crown & Collar Institute review guarantees health, temperament, fertility, structure, working ability, therapy-dog suitability, service-dog suitability, facility-dog suitability, emotional-support suitability, registry acceptance, breed acceptance, or long-term outcome.

DNA testing does not replace veterinary care, OFA/CHIC screening where available, orthopedic evaluation, cardiac evaluation, eye examination, airway or respiratory review, patella testing, thyroid testing, breed-specific veterinary screening, or professional guidance.

SECTION · 05

Working Canine Prospect Disclaimer

Working Canine Prospect Recognition™ does not guarantee that any puppy will become a therapy dog, service dog, facility dog, emotional-support animal, or working dog.

Final suitability depends on health, temperament, development, training, handler needs, environment, legal requirements, professional evaluation, and long-term outcomes.

SECTION · 06

Genetic Restoration & Preservation Disclaimer

Genetic Restoration & Preservation Recognition™ does not guarantee health improvement, breed acceptance, registry acceptance, fertility, structure, temperament, working ability, or long-term outcome.

Crown & Collar Institute does not support novelty breeding, color chasing, hidden ancestry, misleading purebred claims, extreme traits, or casual crossbreeding under the name of preservation.

SECTION · 07

Veterinary, University, Research & Professional Contributor Disclaimer

Crown & Collar Institute may reference, review, or interact with veterinary guidance, veterinary colleges, university-level research, genetics professionals, biological science professionals, researchers, laboratories, educators, nonprofits, and breed-health resources.

Unless specifically stated in writing, Crown & Collar Institute does not claim formal endorsement, accreditation, sponsorship, certification, partnership, or approval by any university, veterinary college, laboratory, registry, veterinarian, researcher, scientific organization, nonprofit, or third-party organization.

Professional membership, contributor honors, advisory participation, or directory listing does not mean the professional certifies, guarantees, approves, endorses, or assumes responsibility for every breeder, dog, litter, pairing, kennel, program, title, award, pedigree notation, registry record, or Crown & Collar Institute decision.

SECTION · 08

Directory Listing Disclaimer

Crown & Collar Institute may maintain public directories for participating breeders, founding members, veterinary professionals, scientific contributors, researchers, educators, or other approved participants.

Directory listing does not automatically mean approval, certification, endorsement, health clearance, breeding approval, award status, service-dog suitability, therapy-dog suitability, facility-dog suitability, working-canine suitability, registry acceptance, or good standing unless specifically stated in Crown & Collar Institute records.

SECTION · 09

Mission Support & Nonprofit Giving Disclaimer

Crown & Collar Institute may designate a portion of proceeds, program revenue, membership revenue, application revenue, sponsorship revenue, or other eligible income toward nonprofit organizations that further the Institute’s mission and goals.

Specific nonprofit recipients, donation percentages, campaign dates, donation amounts, and giving structures should be announced separately when approved and documented.

Statements about nonprofit giving do not automatically mean payments, fees, purchases, applications, or memberships are tax-deductible.

Support for a nonprofit organization does not automatically mean that the nonprofit endorses Crown & Collar Institute unless a written agreement states otherwise.

SECTION · 10
